IMAGO DEI CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY

Imago Dei is a network of Christian faith communities based in Vancouver, British Columbia, with sister groups in other locations around B.C. and other parts of the world. Imago Dei provides resources for the cultivation of the practice of prayer and the life of faith. It also models and encourages small fellowship groups for those who wish to pursue, in community with others, a growing communion with God in their lives.

Our ministry is:

  1. to encourage a deeper spirituality in the lives of Christians.
  2. to help recognize and welcome God's transforming work in life.
  3. to encourage a growing faith towards the life God is calling us to live in this world.

A weekly gathering of Imago Dei can include time for hospitality, sharing, singing, communion, prayer for one another, as well as a dedicated time for silence. This web site includes a growing list of resources for these activities. imagodeicommunity.ca. It is not necessary to leave your home church to be a part of Imago Dei, which is why we meet at times other than Sunday mornings. For some, Imago Dei has become their main church expression, but for others we hope it is a resource that will allow you to serve elsewhere from a deeper place. Our vision is to simply encourage pockets of people who feel drawn to the contemplative life to band together as a resource to one another.

The New Life supported Imago Dei Community meets weekly on Thursday evenings at 6:45 in a home in Port Moody. Interested in coming? Contact Esther Hizsa at 604-420-0761
